PROGEP (PHASE 1)

Launched in 2012, PROGEP was designed as a component of the Ten-Year Flood Control Plan (PDNA), aligned with the Emerging Senegal Plan (PSE) and Act 3 of Decentralisation.

Components

• A — Integrate flood risk into urban planning (planning & urban management; institutional capacity-building; formulation of an integrated stormwater and climate adaptation programme);
• B — Build and manage drainage works (investments; operation and maintenance);
• C — Engage communities in urban flood-risk reduction and climate adaptation (awareness, communication, capacity-building; community investments).
